Add / Remove Photo Gallery Images

If your X-Site features a Photo Gallery, use this guide to learn how to upload new photos to the gallery from your computer or delete existing photos using an FTP connection.

How to Add / Remove Images from the Photo Gallery:

In order to add images to the photo gallery, you will need to connect to the website’s FTP server and upload the images from your computer to the website. To do this on a windows computer:

  • Note: The first time you'd like to add or remove photos from the gallery, contact us for your username and password for the FTP server (as seen in step two).

1)  In the bottom-left corner of the screen, RIGHT click on start and choose “Explore”.

2)  In the address bar across the top of the windows explorer box, type: ftp://username: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and then press enter.  This will connect you to the files that are used on the website.  Your window should look something like this:

3)  Click on the “images” folder, then the “stories” folder, then the “galleries” folder.  Here you will see separate folders for each racing year.  Click on whichever year you’d like to add images to.  For this example we’ll add photos to the 2010 folder.

 
4)  Find the images on your computer from the 2010 season that you’d like to add to the website.  Select all of these images, right click and choose “copy”.  Then go back to the 2010 folder, right click and choose “paste” as shown below:

 It will take some time for the photos to be copied to the website.  Once they are finished copying and are visible in the 2010 folder, the images should now be visible on the website as well!
